Marty’s Bar and Grill in Tustin, known by locals for its cozy feel, cheap cocktails and late night karaoke, will reopen under new ownership as Marty’s On Newport as a brand new bar, concert venue and diner with a grand opening performance by Long Beach-based funk band War on Tuesday, May 29.
The venue, located at 14401 Newport Ave., has announced a slew of upcoming shows within its small space.
“We’re excited to bring an intimate, entertainment venue to Orange County,” co-owner and music industry veteran Mike Rouse said via a press release issued Tuesday morning.
Marty’s On Newport has been recently renovated and will be open daily to those 21 and over for drinks and food. So far, the venue has announced performances by Reverend Horton Heat, X, GZA, The Adolescents, Sweet and Tender Hooligans, Pinback, The Buttertones, Katchafire, Berlin, Wanda Jackson, Joan of Arc, Phil Shane, The Adicts, DJ Quik, Nekromantix, James Intveld, T.S.O.L, Mac Sabbath and many, many more.
