Woman robbed at gunpoint; thieves make off with car in Maple Ridge

Police are searching for three carjackers who entered a woman’s home and robbed her at gunpoint in the community of Maple Ridge.

Police say a woman had just pulled into her driveway in the 9900 block of Maplecreek Drive S.E. at about 3 a.m. Tuesday when her vehicle was pinned by a white GMC pickup truck. Three men emerged from the truck, assaulted her and stole her keys.

One of the men held her at gunpoint as the other two went through her house, searching for valuables, said police.

The men stole electronics and money from the home before fleeing with the woman’s green, 2000 Nissan Pathfinder.

Shortly after 8:30 a.m., a woman in her early 20s was arrested after she crashed the stolen Nissan into a concrete barrier on the Reconciliation Bridge.

Although charges are pending against the driver, police don’t believe she was “directly involved” in the earlier robbery. Police believe the victim may have been targeted by the three men.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents to call the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234.
