Wanted: Black SUV believed linked to about 25 west-end B&Es in October, November

Ottawa police continue to be on the lookout for a suspicious vehicle that they believe is connected to a string of daytime break-ins in the city’s west end.

Police say they are investigating about 25 break-and-enters that happened in October and November, in which suspects have targeted jewelry, cash and small electronics.

In a media release Friday, police distributed photos of a black, four-door SUV with chrome trim. Although the photo is of a Chevrolet Tahoe, police say it could also be a Mazda or an Infiniti with one of two Ontario licence plates attached — CAMB974 or CENN945.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa police break and enter unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2655. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
