Vancouver police investigate pedestrian death in East Vancouver

An 83-year-old Vancouver woman was walking across East 30th Avenue near the east side of Main Street on Wednesday morning when she was hit by a black pick-up truck making a right-turn at a low speed.

Paramedics took her to hospital where she died a short time later.

This is the city’s sixth pedestrian fatality of 2018, according to a statement from Vancouver Police.

The driver of the truck is cooperating with investigators. The VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit is asking anyone with dash-cam footage, who may have been in the area on Wednesday morning, between 11:20 and 11:40am, to contact them at 604-717-3012.
