Vancouver police hunt for sex assault offender

Vancouver police are searching for a sex assault offender, who failed to return to his Vancouver halfway-house early Saturday.

Forty-seven-year-old Floyd Quincey Herbert is a first time federal offender serving a sentence of three years for several crimes, including sexual assault, according to the VPD.

He was granted statutory release in June.

Herbert is described by police as mixed-race of Metis and Black decent, about 5’10 tall, and weighs about 220 lbs. Police say he has short curly hair which is typically pulled back and covered with a head wrap or baseball cap.

He was last seen with a short full beard, wearing a black head wrap and black baseball cap, black zip-up jacket with a blue hoody underneath, black pants and black sneakers.

Anyone who sees Herbert or who has any information about his whereabouts is asked to call 911.
