Trio charged after break-in, robbery in South Stormont

Ontario Provincial Police officers arrested three people after being called to a robbery that occurred just after midnight on Thursday at a residence on Collins Road in South Stormont Township.

Police said, three armed individuals that they believe were wearing disguises broke into the home and then assaulted the two adults who resided there with a weapon. The three suspects then stole items from the house before fleeing in a vehicle.

The two victims of the attack were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and have since been released.

A police investigation located the vehicle a short distance away. There were three people inside. It is believed that the male driver of the vehicle was under the influence of alcohol.

Charged with breaking and entering in relation to the incident are Dennis Gowan, 55, Blake Woods, 25, and Clarissa Square, 25, all of Cornwall.

The investigation into the home invasion is continuing and additional charges are pending.
