Top performers stats-wise among Stampeders for CFL season

The Calgary Stampeders finished with a first-place 13-5 record on the CFL season.

But it wasn’t the only first for the team and its players on the campaign.

The defence, for its all-world effort, was tops in the league in defending the endzone, allowing a CFL-low 363 points, nearly 60 points less than the next-best defence belonging to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Only the Bombers were better at putting points up, with the Stampeders finishing with a second-highest 522 points on the season. The Winnipeg squad scored 550 points.

The Stamps did top the CFL charts with 36 passing touchdowns.

The punt-return average of the Stamps was 12.3 yards per attempt, another league high.
