Three arrested after Saskatoon cab driver assaulted, robbed

A Saskatoon cab driver suffered serious injuries after an early-morning assault on the city’s west side.

Saskatoon police said the 55-year-old driver was taken to hospital with injuries not considered life threatening following an attack on Friday around 3 a.m. in the 200 block of Avenue V South.

When officers arrived on scene, they found the injured cab driver, police said in a news release.

Police said patrol officers took three people — a 22-year-old man from Turtleford, a 19-year-old woman from Saskatoon and a 20-year-old woman from Onion Lake — into custody.

Members of the forensic identification unit were called to process the scene. Officers from the general investigative section remain on the case.
