Stanley Mission RCMP investigating ‘suspicious’ death

Stanley Mission RCMP are investigating after a man was found dead at a home in the northern community.

On Monday, just before 7 a.m., RCMP officers responded to a complaint of an injured male at a residence in Stanley Mission. When officers arrived, they found a dead man inside the home.

Police are now treating the death as suspicious and the RCMP major crimes unit north is leading the investigation with assistance from the Prince Albert Forensic identification section.

RCMP say there is no risk to public safety at this time and note an autopsy is expected to take place in the coming days.

No further details will be released at this time as RCMP report the investigation is in its “preliminary stages.”

Stanley Mission is roughly 460 kilometres north of Saskatoon.
