Former Stampede Wrestling superstar Tom “The Dynamite Kid” Billington passed away Wednesday on his 60th birthday.
Born in 1958 in Golborne, Lancashire, Billington’s wrestling debut across the pond was in 1975 — two years later, Bruce Hart met Billington, suggesting he come to Canada for Stampede Wrestling.
In Stampede Wrestling, Billington was a quick learner, working with talent from near and far, including veterans like Duke Myers.
Billington battled health issues in his later years having had part of his left leg amputated in 2004 after a fall.
More to come.
