Single-vehicle crash in Clear Creek Canyon shuts down U.S. 6

A pickup ran off U.S. 6 on Tuesday night, crashing into Clear Creek and shutting down the canyon as the driver was rescued from the wreckage.

The single-vehicle crash happened before 9 p.m., according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver, who suffered injuries that are not life-threatening, was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Rescue personnel with the Golden Fire Department used pulleys and a litter to lift the injured driver from the river to the roadway.
