Risk of frostbite today but at least that comes with a much needed dose of sunshine

It’s another cold day in the nation’s capital.

Ottawa awoke to frigid temperatures once again, with a wind chill very close to -30.

The sun, as always, will rise and with it bring a high of -12 C today.

The wind chill will make it feel more like -15 this afternoon.

Tonight the temperature will drop sharply, dipping down to -24 C. The wind chill, ever-present, will obviously make that feel colder, probably reaching -29.

Stay warm, dress properly and don’t spend too much time outdoors if you can avoid it.

There’s a risk of frostbite throughout the day.

Sunday will feel very similar with a high of -13 C during the day. In the morning, the wind chill will make it feel like -27.

Tomorrow’s low is -17 C and a risk of frostbite is still present.

Monday will ease up a little with a high of -8 C but, more importantly, the low will only reach -10 C.

As the day wears on, clouds will move in. There’s a 30 per cent chance of flurries that night.

Tuesday will be grey with a high of -7 C and a low of -8 C. There’s a 60 per cent chance of flurries.

Environment Canada is forecasting another temperature drop on Wednesday, so let’s stop this here.

Stay warm and enjoy some time today with family and friends.
