Edmonton-West Henday voters were split as the NDP held a very slight advantage in a riding that was too close to call on election night.
Votes were split between the NDP’s Jon Carson and UCP’s Nicole Williams. As of 10 p.m. Carson held a slight lead garnering 42.8 per cent of the vote compared to William’s 42.1 per cent, as 70 of 72 polls had been calculated. A mere 123 votes separated the front runners.
Fourteen per cent of votes in the riding were cast in ‘vote anywhere’ polls and will not be counted until at least Wednesday.
Carson is the closest thing to an incumbent in the riding as he won the Edmonton-Meadowlark in 2015.
