The Rams are still scheduled to play Seattle on Sunday at the Coliseum, which, because of distance, is unlikely to be impacted by the fires or the resulting poor air quality.
Thursday’s Rams practice took place hours after a mass shooting resulted in 13 deaths four miles from the practice facility. During that practice, smoke was visible from the nearby Woolsey Fire. The brush fire broke out about 2:25 p.m. Thursday, aided by strong Santa Ana winds.
Some 75,000 homes in Los Angeles and Ventura counties were under evacuation orders Friday morning, including in areas where players and staff members live. All were given Friday off to tend to possible family situations.
The fire is zero percent contained after scorching 8,000 acres, destroying multiple structures and threatening at least 30,000 homes in both counties
