Police looking for 24-year-old man in child-luring investigation

City police are looking for a 24-year-old man in connection with a child-luring investigation in Saskatoon.

Members of the vice unit are trying to locate Alexander Tokaryk after Saskatoon police were alerted to the possible luring of teen girls on social media, alongside a criminal complaint made by a 17-year-old girl, according to a police news release.

Police say another victim was identified during the investigation and officers believe the alleged criminal activity “may not be isolated incidents.”

Beginning in April 2018, police say the man is believed to have engaged victims in conversation through a social media app, arranging for sexual favours in exchange for drugs and money.

A warrant has been issued for Tokaryk’s arrest. He faces two charges of luring a child, plus charges of trafficking heroin, methamphetamine and cannabis under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He’s charged with unlawful distribution of cannabis under the Cannabis Act.

Police say Tokaryk is described as 6′ tall, weighing 275 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with similar experiences or information about Tokaryk’s whereabouts is asked to contact city police or Crime Stoppers.
