Police believe missing woman was picked up by driver when she went to seek help for stuck vehicle

Maidstone RCMP believe a missing 34-year-old woman who sought help when her vehicle became stuck in the snow may have been picked up by an unknown driver.

Police say Amanda Michayluk was gathering firewood with her father on the morning of Jan. 10, five kilometres south of Maidstone, when their vehicle got stuck. She walked away to get help.

RCMP who attended the scene tracked her footprints to a range road nearby and believe a vehicle may have picked her up there.

She has not been heard from since then.

Police describe Michayluk as 5’9″ tall, 115 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a denim “Ski-Doo” suit, a toque and winter boots.

Michayluk does not have her medication, which she requires, police said.

Anyone who may have information about her whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
