Parkland County woman charged after starving horses reported to police

A Parkland County woman is facing animal cruelty charges after RCMP received reports about malnourished horses on her property.

Evansburg RCMP began investigating the woman after they heard that several horses living on the property appeared to be starving.

Police arrested the woman on Friday without incident.

Patricia Lynn Moore, 48, is facing three counts of permitting and/or causing unnecessary pain, suffering, or injury to animals.

She was released from custody after a bail hearing and is to appear in Evansburg Provincial Court Jan. 14.

RCMP did not release any additional information about the case.
