North Dundas man charged with sexually assaulting two young girls

A 56-year-old North Dundas man has been charged with sexually assaulting two young girls following what began as a domestic disturbance.

Early on Oct. 28, at 4:06 a.m., Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry OPP officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in North Dundas Township.

Investigation indicated a man had assaulted his ex-girlfriend, police said in a media release.

Further investigation, the release says, revealed the man had assaulted the female multiple times in the past and sexually assaulted her as well.

During the investigation it was also disclosed that the man had previously sexually assaulted two young girls.

A 56-year-old male, of North Dundas, was arrested and is charged with:

  • Assault (4 counts)
  • Assault with a weapon
  • Sexual Assault
  • Sexual Assault with a person under 16 years of age ( 2 counts)
  • Sexual Interference ( 2 counts)

He was held in custody pending a court appearance in Cornwall. The name of the accused is being withheld in order to protect the identity of the victims.
