New F1 Manager Mobile Game Launches On Android And iOS

Formula 1 fans and gamers alike can now download the new F1 Manager game, the result of an official partnership between FIA Formula 1 and mobile game developers Hutch.

F1 Manager features all of the tracks, teams and drivers from the 2019 FIA Formula One World Championship, which means that you can manage the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo directly from your mobile device.

“Formula 1 has a massive global fanbase and for years game developers have successfully delivered the F1 driving experience. The F1 fans in our design team felt the team principal perspective was underserved and more suited to mobile play. Our team has created a game that captures the excitement of a race weekend, focusing on the vital decisions made from behind the pit wall. We’re excited to bring this mobile-first F1 game to fans around the world,” said Hutch CEO and Co-Founder, Shaun Rutland.

While there are plenty of in-game purchases you can make, the game itself is free-to-play, and offers mobile racers the chance to create their own personalized Formula 1 team, taking on other players in real-time 1v1 races. You can also recruit and train real-life F1 drivers, upgrade your race cars, select different pit stop strategies and plenty more.

Quick review

After downloading the game on an iOS device and playing it for a few hours, we found it quite enjoyable and possibly addictive – depending on whether or not this is your genre.

Pros: Making split second decisions for both your drivers during the race is really fun, as is deciding when to push and when to conserve fuel or preserve tires, especially since another human opponent is trying to do the same. In the end, this feels like a strategy game more than anything else, although the graphics are surprisingly decent, as is the on-screen action.

Cons: The game is very demanding on your device’s battery life, and requires a permanent Internet connection. If for some reason there’s an issue with your connection during gameplay, you will be forced to forfeit the game, which in turn means losing precious coins/tokens.

You can download F1 Manager from either the Google Play Store for Android devices or the App Store for iOS.
