Motorcyclist sent to hospital with serious injuries after Nisku crash

A 39-year-old man is in hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries after the motorcycle he was driving was stuck by an oncoming SUV in Nisku late Sunday night.

Leduc RCMP say they were called to the scene of the collision at 10:28 p.m. Sunday on Airport Road in front of the Holiday Inn in Nisku. Police say investigators initially determined that the driver of the SUV was travelling in the wrong direction on Airport Road when it collided with the motorcycle.

EMS crews responded and took the man to hospital. Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision.

Nisku is approximately 27 km south of Edmonton.
