Ministry of Natural Resources investigating after four dead deer found on side of highway

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is asking for the public’s help to find information that could help identify individuals responsible for killing, skinning and beheading a number of deer and then leaving their carcasses to rot on the side of a highway.

According to ministry officials, four dead deer were found along Highway 36 North of Maberly, in Tay Valley Township near Perth on Nov. 10, after a member of the public reported finding the dead animals at the side of the road. Officers believe the deer were left there between Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10. Three of the deer were found skinned with their heads removed. One was left with the skin on. Officers later found the deer heads lying nearby, abandoned.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry at 1-877-847-7667 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
