Man, woman accused of stealing tires, wheels off new vehicles at metro dealerships

Authorities are looking for a man and woman who allegedly stole tires from vehicles in dealership parking lots, leaving vehicles on cinder blocks and selling the stolen goods.

A Jefferson County grand jury has returned a 13-count indictment against Brian Allen Kassal, 33, according to the district attorney’s office.

Sarah Jessica Maksimovic, 27, has been charged with one count of theft and one count of conspiracy to commit theft, a news release said. Maksimovic is accused of attempting to sell stolen tires and wheels to an undercover law enforcement officer.

From November 2017 to September, Kassal went to nine car dealerships across the metro area and stole tires and wheels, leaving vehicles on cinder blocks, according to the indictment. He allegedly sold the stolen goods on Craigslist.

Golden police, the State Patrol and the Jefferson County district attorney’s office investigated. Arrest warrants have been issued for both suspects.
