A 50-year-old man from Big River First Nation has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident that left a pedestrian dead in December.
Big River RCMP responded to a call of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian on the evening of Dec. 23. A man was declared deceased at the scene and police believed the vehicle involved in the collision left the scene.
The accused, whose name was not released by RCMP, is charged with failure to remain at the scene (person dies), public mischief and obstruct a police officer.
The accused was remanded for court and will appear in Prince Albert on Jan. 11.
