Man, 82, wounded in South Shore shooting

An 82-year-old man was wounded in a shooting Friday evening in the South Shore neighborhood.

The shooting happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 7000 block of South Cornell Avenue, according to Chicago police.

He was struck in his upper right arm and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where his condition stabilized, police said.
