Local clothing designer hopes social media post will help locate stolen goods

A local fashion designer hopes Saskatoon’s social media community will be able to help track down a variety of items that were recently stolen from her business.

According to a Facebook post on the Rebecca King Fashion House page, the home-based business owner, who regularly attends trade shows and other craft sales throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta and showcases at Dutch Growers, lost a “significant” amount of goods — nearly wiping out the entire stock of one at least one design.

Owner and designer Rebecca Farthing said she was getting calls from many media outlets but did not wish to comment on the crime or the amount or retail value of what was stolen, citing safety and security concerns.

Farthing has posted photos to the brand’s Facebook page, showing items that were stolen and asking anyone who might come across one of her designs on Kijiji or Facebook buy and sell pages, or in local consignment stores, to let her know.
