Kidnapping victim’s car still missing days after man rescued by police

Police are looking for a vehicle belonging to a kidnapping victim freed by police last week.

Around 3 a.m. on Nov. 20, police said they were contacted by a man reporting a family member was being held hostage after being assaulted.

Officers found the 38-year-old male victim around 2:30 a.m. the next day and arrested multiple suspects at a residence in the northwest community of Brentwood.

Police also took suspects into custody from a hotel in the northeast Horizon neighbourhood.

Six people have been charged in connection with the incident, and now police are asking the public to help locate the victim’s vehicle.

The vehicle is described as a dark blue, four-door 2007 Honda Civic with Alberta licence plate BPL 8416.

The victim was taken to hospital. Calgary police Supt. Gerry Francois said the man suffered injuries to his face but is expected to make a full recovery.

Anyone with information about this vehicle or the kidnapping incident is asked to call the Calgary Police Service at 403-266-1234, or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or www.calgarycrimestoppers.org.
