Two CIF-Southern Section quarterfinals football games have been postponed because of wildfires in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
The CIF-SS Division 1 football playoff game between Oaks Christian and JSerra that was supposed to be played Friday night at JSerra High has been rescheduled for Saturday at JSerra at 7 p.m. because of the wildfires, according to Lions coach Pat Harlow.
“Postponed until tomorrow at 7 (pm),” Harlow said in an e-mail Friday morning.
San Juan Hills’ Division 2 home game against Calabasas also has been rescheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. at San Juan Hills High.
All, due to the fires, today’s game has been cancelled. Please stay safe and news on a rescheduled date will come as soon as we know.

Oaks Christian is located in Westlake Village, near the wildfires that closed parts of the 101 Freeway early Friday morning. Residents of Westlake Village have been ordered to evacuate.
The Oaks Christian-JSerra game was scheduled to be broadcast by Fox Sports West. Fox Sports West announced that San Clemente’s Division 1 home game against St. John Bosco will now air Friday at 7 p.m.
The Yorba Linda at Corona del Mar quarterfinal Friday will be picked up by the Fox Sports West Prep Zone schedule for streaming.
Also postponed or altered due to the wildfires:
— The Mayfair vs. Pacifica of Oxnard CIF-SS football playoff game: The game Friday night was cancelled and tentatively rescheduled for Saturday at 7 p.m. at a location to be determined in the Santa Clarita Valley, according to Pacifica principal Ted Lawrence.
— The Birmingham vs. San Fernando CIF City Section football playoff game: It was moved from Pierce College to Granada Hills Charter High and will start at 7:30 p.m.
— The Highland vs. Simi Valley CIF-SS Division 10 football playoff game: Friday’s game was cancelled and the schools are working on a new date, location and time for the contest.
