Incoming freshman quarterback Malachi Nelson (6-3, 175), who recently was offered by Auburn, said he plans to attends Los Alamitos in the fall.
Auburn is the first school to offer Nelson, who is in the eighth grade.
“Auburn was huge for my first offer,” Nelson said.

Scholarship offers for pre-high school quarterbacks aren’t unheard of, but Nelson joins some impressive company. Mater Dei senior-to-be quarterback Bryce Young, a USC commit, received his first offer as an eighth grader courtesy of Coach Kliff Kingsbury, then at Texas A&M.
