IHIT investigating suspicious death in Surrey

One person is dead and homicide detectives have taken over the investigation in Surrey early Friday.

Surrey Mounties say at around 1:30 a.m., officers attended a residence in the 7000-block of 144A Street after emergency responders reported a medical distress call.

When emergency crews arrived, they found a dead adult inside with injuries consistent with foul play. Mounties are not saying whether the person was a man or woman at this time.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called and will be working with the Surrey RCMP.
