Growing Concerns: Gardeners easy to please

It’s not hard to find great gifts for the gardener on your list. Here are some suggestions

  • Gift cards to a garden centre or a stone yard.
  • Subscriptions to Canadian garden magazines. There also are some wonderful British and Australian magazines with great design ideas.
  • Folding garden stool with a tool bag attached, for the hours spent sitting and weeding and the ability to have hand tools close by.
  • Garden gloves that come with claws to help you dig better in the garden. The gloves are made with a rubber protective coating to protect your hands and durable ABS plastic claws for all eight fingers that allow you to dig as you work with no extra tools.
  • There was an unlimited amount of garden decor from bear cubs that look like they are climbing a tree to stepping stones, and copper wind spinners that catch the sunlight and create prisms of colour to dance in the garden.
  • Don’t forget a garden gnome. I like the ones that remind me of special people, like a baker for my mom or a woodsman for my brother. There are so many of them out there.
  • Seed kits. Gardeners love to try growing something different. Find something you think is cool or reminds you of the recipient and they will for sure give it a try.
  • Solar lights, from stand alone flood lights to strings of lights with butterflies or bees. There’s always room for a bit of night lighting in any garden.
  • A trip to visit a garden always is a wonderful gift. I never plan a trip anywhere without making sure I get to see at least one garden.

When it comes to our garden there is always room for one more plant or another piece of art.
