After three long years…
Grimes has promised fans that the release of her new material is “imminent”.
The artist – whose real name is Claire Boucher – released her last album, ‘Art Angels’, in November 2015. In a four-star review of the record, NME said: “Grimes’ determinedly-weird ethos remains delightfully intact”.
Now, Boucher has been reminded by a fan that it’s three years to the day since the LP’s release (November 6). “Happy birthday Art Angels,” they tweeted. “A record that will always surpass the test of time and leave us all dancing, crying, and forever in love with the genius work of C Boucher.”
In a now-deleted tweet, Grimes responded: “Thank god I have new music imminent this is embarrassingly long time to not release an album haha.” Check out a screenshot of the post below.
While it was revealed last month that she has collaborated with Bring Me The Horizon on their upcoming album ‘Amo’, the Canadian artist is yet to release any music from her long-awaited record.
Grimes has also recently worked with Poppy on the YouTube sensation’s single ‘Play Destroy’.
In June, she shared snippets of two new tracks, describing one as one as “a cheesy love song”, and the second as “a cyberpunk interpretation of the bajirao mastani movie.”
In other news, Grimes was recently the subject of much gossip surrounding an apparent collaboration with Azealia Banks.
