Flood advisory issued for parts of Oahu

A flood advisory has been issued for parts of Oahu until 7:30 p.m.

“At 4:35 p.m., radar indicated heavy rain near Whitmore Village, with rain falling up to 2 inches per hour in the heaviest showers,” the National Weather Service reported.

Locations in the advisory include Ahuimanu, Hauula, Mililani, Wheeler Field, Wahiawa, Kahuku, Waialua, Waikane, Schofield Barracks, Laie, Waiahole and Kahaluu.

Weather officials said today that a cold front to the northwest of the islands will strengthen as it moves towards the islands. It’s expected to reach Kauai by Friday morning and move down the island chain. The cold front is expected to push south of the Big Island on Sunday.
