Ottawa fire fighters remained on the scene of a fire at a home at 336 Olmstead St. in Vanier on Saturday night.
According to emergency responders, fire fighters received calls for help after smoke became visible from the second storey of the unit. The building contains several apartment units.
Fire crews determined the blaze originated on the second floor and brought it under control around 5:50 p.m.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. An Ottawa Fire Services investigator was dispatched to the scene to determine the cause of the blaze.
The Canadian Red Cross and the Salvation Army were both on scene to assist affected residents.
