Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone a finalist for NBA Coach of the Year

The NBA has announced the six awards finalist that honor the top performers of the 2018-19 regular season. Denver Nuggets have made the list as they have a man in the running for one of the awards.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone is one of three finalist for NBA Coach of the Year. The other two are Mike Budenholzer of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Doc Rivers of the LA Clippers.

Malone lead the Nuggets to a 54-28 record and back to the NBA playoffs where they beat the San Antonio Spurs in the first round and lost in the second to the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 7.

The other five awards categories are Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, NBA Sixth Man Award, Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player.

The winners of the awards will be announced at the 2019 NBA Awards on Monday, June 24 at 7 p.m. in Los Angeles Calif. The event will be aired on TNT.
