In the new visuals, lyrics from the single appear in green, handwritten scrawls across grainy footage of the band. Flicking rapidly through various locations – including Moscow’s Red Square – the clip ends with the group taking off in a plane. The video features the ‘2018 Mix’ of ‘Back In The U.S.S.R’, which will be included in the upcoming release.
The milestone reissue of ‘The White Album’ was announced in September. A new edition of the iconic double record will be available in a series of “lavishly presented” packages with new mixes of its 30 tracks. It will also include 27 early acoustic demos and 50 session tracks, with many never officially released before.
‘The White Album’ anniversary collection will be available this Friday (November 9).
Meanwhile, a new video for the ‘Ultimate Mix’ of John Lennon’s ‘Gimme Some Truth’ has been unveiled. The track has been given updated visuals, making Lennon’s lyrics all the more relevant as US citizens head to the mid-term polls.
Earlier this year, Paul McCartney released his latest solo album, ‘Egypt Station’. Reviewing the record, NME said that “this latest glimpse into his life feels like a particularly enlightening one”.
