Canadian Country Music Awards include several Calgary nominees

Singer-songwriter Lindsay Ell leads a list of Calgary artists named as nominees Thursday for Canadian Country Music Awards.

The expat country singer who now reside in Nashville is up for Album of the Year and Female Artist of the Year.

She’s joined by Leaving Thomas, which is nominated for the SiriusXM Rising Star and Interactive Artist or Group of the Year.

Bobby Wills, who won the Rising Star Award in 2013 joins some heady company as one of five nominees for Male Artist of the Year. He’s up against another Albertan — Brett Kissel as well as Gord Bamford, Chad Brownlee, and Dallas Smith.

Calgary country artist Bobby Wills is nominated as Best Male Artist in the 2018 Canadian Country Music Awards.

MCC Recording Studio – Recording Studio of the Year

Jenn Dalen — Music Director of the Year (Small or Medium Market)
