Bryan Adams ‘forever grateful’ for Lions Christmas dinner

It was Straight From The Heart.

Former Ottawan Bryan Adams has sold 75 million albums as Canada’s top-selling male singer-songwriter, but there was a time when things were more Bare Bones (like the title of his 2010 acoustic album).

The 59-year-old took to social media Tuesday to express his eternal gratitude to a local service club for making the holidays merry.

“The end of the year is near, and December is special, but it’s the time to remember the poorer families,” Adams said.  “I’ll be forever grateful to the Lions Club in Ottawa for bringing us Xmas dinner…”

Paulette Hayes, secretary of the Ottawa Vanier Lions Club, recalled the Kingston-born, Ottawa-raised Adams as an alumnus of Colonel By Secondary School and was touched by the star’s nod to a service club that has branches across the area.
