Honolulu police closed all westbound lanes of Vineyard Boulevard between Liliha Street and Pua Lane this morning as they investigated a traffic collision involving a pedestrian.
Around 6:30 a.m., a 15-year-old male was crossing Vineyard at Pua Lane when he was struck by a compact sport utility vehicle.
The boy, who was not in a marked crosswalk when he was hit, was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
All lanes were reopened to traffic at approximately 7:45 a.m.
It is unknown at this time if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
