1 hurt in shooting at CTA station in Loop

A person was shot Thursday night at a CTA station in the Loop.

The shooting occurred shortly after 5 p.m. in the 200 block of South State Street, according to Chicago police.

One person was wounded and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition, Fire Media Affairs said.

As of 5:30 p.m., Red Line trains were bypassing the Jackson station, according to the CTA. Blue Line trains were suspended between Grand and UIC-Halsted.
